Major plans for the expansion of Armin van Buuren's famous A State Of Trance in the Netherlands have been revealed. Armin is shifting its signature event to Rotterdam after it spent more than ten years in Utrecht. The recently revealed plans include involve extending the event's daytime programming to include masterclasses, demo-drops, panels, and artist Q&As. Rotterdam will genuinely emerge as the center of the world of trance music as the event expands into the daytime and develops into a multi-day affair. The 23rd and 24th of February 2024 will see A State of Trance 2024 at Ahoy in Rotterdam. The extremely strong demand for tickets and the desire of fans to further enhance their experience are both factors contributing to the expansion plans.
In a special episode of A State of Trance Radio, which was broadcast live from the top floor of the tallest residential structure in the Benelux, the news was announced. Armin van Buuren gave a special performance following the live broadcast, during which he expressed his optimism for the brand's future: “Utrecht has been an incredible place for the past years. We’ve all made countless memories there; I myself even went to my first rave in the Jaarbeurs venue back in 1993, and I’ve also hosted some of my Armin Only shows there. But unfortunately, they’re tearing down the iconic hall that housed our mainstage every year, so we’ve no choice but to look elsewhere. So I’m proud to say that we’re moving A State of Trance from Utrecht to… Rotterdam! The city offers infinite possibilities to build out and strengthen the legacy of A State of Trance and I’m thrilled for us to build an even more exciting future for A State of Trance in Rotterdam!”
DESTINATION
The complete take-over of the city is the embodiment of A State of Trance’s next theme, DESTINATION, providing fans with an experience unlike anything a single entity in dance music has done. Part of the excitement comes from the city of Rotterdam’s dedication to the event, fully opening up the city to the arrival of A State of Trance. A State of Trance 2024 in Rotterdam will see performances of over 70 artists spread out across five different stages. The multitude of stages allow for musical diversification as well as playing host to the iconic A State of Trance sound.
A State of Trance Hotel
With over half of its visitors flying in from across the globe, A State of Trance is dedicated to provide the very best experience possible. 2024 will see the introduction of the A State of Trance Hotel, fully taking over the Room Mate Bruno Hotel for the weekend. Many of the daytime activities will take place at the A State of Trance Hotel, making the hotel the official hub for the weekend and the perfect place to come home to after a long night. Fans will be able to purchase a variety of travel packages for A State of Trance 2024, some including a room in the A State of Trance Hotel and others without.
