For the 12th year, Brussels Airlines is a proud partner of Tomorrowland, the world-renowned music festival. The Belgian carrier will transport more than 14,000 festivalgoers to and from the event in July. These travelers represent 122 different nationalities, with the Spanish being the most represented. Together with Tomorrowland and Brussels Airlines, efforts have been made to reduce the environmental impact of these flights, resulting in a reduction of 96 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
Tomorrowland is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024, with the summer edition themed 'LIFE', a sequel to the 2016 theme 'Elixir of Life'. Taking place during the third and fourth weekends of July, the festival will host over 800 artists across 16 enchanting stages. The picturesque setting of 'De Schorre' recreation park in Boom will transform into a global gathering spot for 400,000 festivalgoers from around the world.
The first party flight of the brand-new Amare, an Airbus A320neo, was presented in April. This aircraft, representing the famous bird brought to life through augmented reality, enhances the Tomorrowland experience with an impressive sound system and special mood lighting onboard.
Brussels Airlines has continuously invested in lowering its environmental impact. The new Amare, the second A320neo in the fleet, emits 20% less CO2 and up to 50% less noise than its predecessors. This collaboration between Tomorrowland and Brussels Airlines showcases a commitment to sustainability. All Global Journey Packages offered by Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland are Green Fares, which offset CO2 emissions through Sustainable Aviation Fuel and high-quality climate protection projects. Additionally, they have agreed to invest in additional SAF equivalent to the fuel used for six party flights, supporting the essential energy transition in aviation.
Brussels Airlines connects the world to Belgium, flying festivalgoers from almost 40 airports. Passengers come from a diverse array of nationalities, with Spanish, American, Swiss, and British being the most common. Many festivalgoers choose to explore Belgium before the festival, visiting cities like Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, and Brussels, while others explore European cities via Discover Europe.
This year, six flights will be transformed into unique Tomorrowland Party Flights, featuring live DJ sets at 10 kilometers altitude. The first Party Flight from Ibiza on July 17th featured Belgian DJ Meaghan Slaets. Passengers were treated to a gate party in Ibiza before boarding. For those traveling back home, a baggage drop-off point is available at the DreamVille campsite, along with a DreamVille Service Desk for any queries.
As a tradition, Brussels Airlines invites everyone to enjoy a free ride on 'The Home of Amare' Ferris wheel on the festival grounds, offering stunning views of the Tomorrowland site. Passengers can also experience the Tomorrowland atmosphere at Brussels Airport, where a DJ booth will be set up in the Connector towards Pier A. DJs will perform sets on Monday, July 22nd, and Monday, July 29th, between 7 am and 7 pm, extending the festival experience right up to the departure.
